The Tangipahoa Parish School Board's finance committee has approved raising the school district's fees for its driver's education course.
The committee approved hiking the fees to $400, up from $350.
Financial officer Bret Schnadelbach says the school system is raising the fees to replace its four driver's education vehicles.
Schnadelbach said the increase puts the Tangipahoa Parish school system's fees on par with other nearby systems.
Livingston Parish's driver education fee is $375, and St. Tammany Parish's is $400.
The full board will vote on all of the finance committee's recommendations at its Aug. 20 meeting.
