Jefferson Parish sheriff's deputies have arrested a 78-year-old Metairie man in the fatal shooting of a woman on May 8. Robert Kyle surrendered to Jefferson Parish authorities Sunday and was booked with one count of second-degree murder in the death of Jerrel Oster of Metairie.
The Times-Picayune reports detectives developed Kyle as a suspect in the case, and a warrant for his arrest was issued Friday. Oster was found dead in her home. Deputies say Oster's husband found her slumped over and bleeding when he returned home from work.
