Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne is heading to Canada this week for meetings with cultural, tourism, government and business leaders.
Dardenne leaves Tuesday and returns Saturday after two-day stops in Toronto and Quebec City.
He said that he'll be meeting with travel guides and tour groups, seeking to increase their visits to Louisiana. The lieutenant governor also will be attending a festival that features Louisiana musicians and music.
During the trip he plans to push Louisiana seafood in his new role over the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board. Canada is the No. 1 market for U.S. seafood exports.
