LAFAYETTE, La. -- Another record fell in the Louisiana athletic department this week as season ticket sales for the upcoming Ragin' Cajuns football surpassed the 11,000 mark to break the school record set a year ago. The announcement was made by Louisiana ticket manager Matt Casbon on Saturday, the day before the Louisiana players report for the start of preseason camp.
"On behalf of the athletic department, I'd like to thank our fans who came out and renewed their season tickets early and those who purchased season tickets for the first time this year," Casbon said. "To break our season ticket record so early in the year is a sign of what great support that we have here."
As of Friday (Aug. 2), a total of 11,098 season tickets were sold for the upcoming season, surpassing the school and Sun Belt record of 10,841 set by the Cajuns last year.
"Although I'm excited to break the record yet again, I am still looking for a sellout," Hudspeth said. "If 40,000 can make it to New Orleans for the bowl then we can sellout 31,000 at home. I know we'll get there."
As an added value to Cajuns fans, work continues in adding bench back seating in sections B, C, E, F, UB and UF in Cajun Field. When the project is completed before the Sept. 21 season opener vs. Nicholls State, all of the seats in the lower bowl of the stadium (except sections A & G) on the press box side will offer either chair back or bench back seats
Fans interested in purchasing season tickets, including some of the remaining bench back seats, can do so by going online to the Ticket Central page on RaginCajuns.com or by contacting the CajunDome ticket office either in person or by phone (337-265-2100) from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
