PORT ALLEN, La. (AP) - Authorities have arrested a Chalmette man who allegedly had more than 300 pounds of synthetic marijuana in his possession when sheriff's deputies stopped his vehicle on Interstate 10 in West Baton Rouge Parish.
The Advocate reports that 35-year-old Kalid Jaber was booked on a drug charge and traffic violations following his arrest Thursday night.
Authorities said the confiscated drugs had a value of roughly $1.4 million.
Jaber was ordered held on $1 million bond and remained in custody Friday.
