BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - First-time claims for unemployment insurance in Louisiana for the week ending July 27 decreased from the previous week's total.
The state labor department figures released Friday show 2,627 initial claims compared to 3,035 a week earlier.
The four-week moving average of initial claims decreased to 2,878 from the previous week's average of 2,978.
Continued unemployment claims claimed for the week ending July 27 increased to 27,074 compared to the previous week's total of 26,423.
The four-week moving average of such claims increased to 26,243 from the previous week's average of 25,822.
