After a successful rally last week, resulting in donations of $1,000 and 865 pounds of non-perishable food, IBERIABANK is proud to once again host a Food Truck Rally to support the efforts of FoodNet on Saturday, August 10 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at IBERIABANK's Downtown Tower location at 200 West Congress Street.
Area food trucks vendors joining IBERIABANK include Viva La Waffle, Pelon's Mexican Hotdogs, Mad Luann's, LA StrEAT, Lil Chub's Grill, Rice Kings, Chef Gregory, Kona Ice, Hibachi Hero and Acadiana Grilled Cheese. The food trucks will be selling Acadiana's favorite food truck fare and are encouraging their followers to attend this event and bring non-perishable food items to donate to FoodNet. They will also be donating a portion of their proceeds to benefit FoodNet. In addition, IBERIABANK will feature local artists' work in the branch's lobby as a part of ArtWalk and invites the community to come view fantastic local art pieces provided by Leslie Tammariello and Missy Cannon, as well as floral art by Downtown favorite Mia Sandberg of Root Floral Designs and music by local musician Caleb Elliott.
"We are thrilled by the community's response to our call to support FoodNet at last week's event," said Jerry Vascocu, IBERIABANK Acadiana President. "IBERIABANK is excited to create the environment for another community event to help this outstanding non-profit organization that provides assistance to many families in need throughout the year."
"FoodNet was overwhelmed with the outpouring of community support at the IBERIABANK Food Truck Rally last week," said FoodNet Executive Director Lemel Jones. "It was truly amazing to see the Lafayette community together to support those who are in need. We are hopeful for an even greater outpouring of support at this upcoming Rally."
Items that are needed most include proteins such as canned fish and meat, canned vegetables, canned fruits, canned/boxed meals (soups, macaroni & cheese, etc.), peanut butter, canned/dried beans, pasta, rice, cereal and fruit juices.
