An Alexandria man is in the Lafayette Parish Jail for trying to cash a counterfeit check at a bank. Henry Armstrong is charged with monetary instrument abuse, forgery, and attempted bank fraud.
Armstrong allegedly tried passing the fake check at a bank in the 200 block of West Congress. Police say the bank staff noticed the note was a fraud and called authorities.
Armstrong is being held on $7,500 bond. Officials say this case is not related to another counterfeit check case cracked Wednesday in Lafayette.
