BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - State Fire Marshal Butch Browning says three juveniles have been arrested for the fire at the Church of God in North Hodge.
In a news release Wednesday, Browning said North Hodge police responded July 26 to a report of a fire at the church. Browning says in investigation determined that the church had been vandalized and the ensuing fire was likely intentional.
During the investigation, several persons of interest were questioned. Browning says three of them cooperated with authorities and admitted to being responsible for the vandalism and fire.
Each juvenile faces a charge of simple arson of a religious structure and one count of institutional vandalism. They'll also face a charge relative to minors being in possession of alcohol.
They're being held at the Green Oaks Detention Center.
