LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - A 31-year-old Maurice man has pleaded guilty in federal court to counterfeiting $100 bills.
Brandon Lee Landry faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and five years of supervised release.
Federal prosecutors say Landry admitted that he counterfeited the money between August 2012 and September 2012. Authorities said Landry printed more than 59 counterfeit $100 bills and used an all-in-one printer to make the fake money at a home near New Iberia.
Landry also admitted that he passed the counterfeit bills at several stores.
No sentencing date has been set.
