A Krotz Springs businessman will soon finally see payment for barriers ordered from him.
Paul Wiltz says the National Guard will foot the nearly $137,000 bill for the 330 HESCO barriers. Wiltz says he learned about this new development Monday from Krotz Springs Mayor Carroll Snyder and St. Landry Parish President Bill Fontenot.
Wiltz says the National Guard ordered the barriers to protect Krotz Springs in anticipation of the 2011 opening of the Morganza Spillway.
Two years later, Wiltz approached the Krotz Springs City Council about payment, but no one was sure who was supposed to foot the bill.
Wiltz says the first payment should arrive in two weeks.
