If you are planning to travel on U.S. 90 this weekend, you might want to be prepared for some traffic where it crosses the Atchafalaya between Berwick and Morgan City.
On Saturday, Aug. 17, U.S. 90 will be reduced to one lane in the eastbound direction, at the Atchafalaya River Bridge, to allow crews to clean and perform drainage work on the bridge.
On Sunday, Aug. 18, the highway will be reduced to one lane on the westbound side of the bridge so similar work can be performed on that span.
The closure will take place from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. Emergency vehicles will have access to the area.
