Public viewing for the late Bishop Jude Speyrer beings today in Lake Charles.
Speyrer, a Leonville native, died at an Opelousas nursing home last Monday. He was ordained and served in the Diocese of Lafayette before becoming the founding bishop of the Diocese of Lake Charles in 1980.
Viewing takes place today in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Lake Charles from 2 P. M. until 8 P. M. and will continue tomorrow from 8 A. M. until 8 P. M. Burial will take place tomorrow in the New Bethany Cemetary in Moss Bluff.
