The Mississippi Highway Patrol says a chase that started with a traffic stop in Gulfport ended in D'Iberville when the car tried to cut between two houses and hit one.
Hancock County deputies say 27-year-old Tameka Thomas is free on bond. She was booked Saturday on eight traffic counts and one each of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
Thomas does not have a listed phone number. It was not clear whether she had an attorney.
State Police Cpl. Jason Gazzo says she allegedly took off as a Gulfport officer was checking her license.
A local downpour quickly made the chase too dangerous. The officer radioed the car's description.
Gazzo says a state trooper got involved after an off-duty officer saw the car and called in.
