Rep. Charles Boustany (R-Lafayette) has issued this statement on the death of Former Rep. Lindy Boggs: "I am saddened to hear of the passing of Lindy Boggs. Louisiana has been blessed with a long tradition of strong, political voices serving in Washington, and Lindy Boggs stood out among them. She advocated on behalf of the poor and underserved while never compromising her own principles or her Southern charm. Lindy served as a role model for many women across the state, nation, and world as she knocked down barriers en route to her own political ascent. Louisiana has lost one of its finest public servants today. My thoughts and prayers are with her family at this difficult time."
