Two people are behind bars after Evangeline Parish sheriff's deputies say an argument between two people high on meth led to a shooting in Turkey Creek.
The incident took place last Sunday in the 1000 block of Hazelton Lane.
Investigators say William Ford and Christine Fontenot were under the influence when Ford became angry with Fontenot over allegations she molested a minor.
Deputies say Fontenot tried to leave the house, but Ford allegedly grabbed a shotgun and fired at Fontenot. Her car crashed into a tree before going over an embankment in a wooded area.
Deputies found Fontenot as she was fleeing from the vehicle. According to detectives, she admitted to having sexual contact with a minor during questioning.
Ford is charged with attempted manslaughter and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Fontenot is charged with sexual battery and indecent behavior with a juvenile.
Both remain in the Evangeline Parish Jail.
