Franklin police have turned over to the district attorney their case of a mother who died following a fight with her son.
Sixty-year-old Hazel Charles died from head trauma, while her son, Jeremiah Penns, remains hospitalized with stab wounds.
Police Chief Sabria McGuire says her office cannot comment on the case except to say that the investigation has been handed to District Attorney Phil Haney's office.
Penns's condition has been upgraded to stable.
