Exploring Women's Literature: From History to Popular Culture

LAFAYETTE - A course this fall at South Louisiana Community College will explore Women's Literture from the 19th through 21st centuries.

English 2210, or Women's Literature, is a special course being offered this fall. It is not offered each semester.
Instructor Erin Breaux said students will explore British, American, and global authors and artists during the class.
"We'll make connections between literature and history, popular culture, women's social issues, and visual rhetoric," said Breaux. "We'll encounter many different issues and diverse opinions. All are welcome."

The course counts as a humanities, liberal arts, or free elective course and as a literature elective for certain degrees. It will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1 - 2:15 p.m. at the Devalcourt Building in Lafayette.
New and returning students can schedule Fall semester classes now. Students are encouraged to enroll and register for classes before the rush of the semester, which begins on August 26.

New students should apply for admissions by going to www.solacc.edu/admissions and clicking on the "Enroll Now" button. Create a login ID and password, then follow the instructions to apply.

Returning students should log into their LoLA account to schedule courses.
