GRAY, La. (AP) - Deputies responding to a domestic dispute arrested a man wanted in the beating of an amputee six years ago.
The Courier reports 33-year-old Derek Daigle of Gray was booked with battery of the infirm.
Deputies say Daigle drove to Bayou Blue in May 2006 to fight with a man. He started beating the man when his sister came to his aid. All of her toes and most of her fingers had been amputated, and she could not balance well. Daigle allegedly picked her up and threw her to the ground four times.
Daigle was booked Sunday with simple battery and four counts of simple battery of the infirm. He is in the Lafourche Parish jail in lieu of bonds totaling $26,000.
